ITM LEMI chose to equip its logistics site with a BestReach telescopic boom conveyor to improve productivity and ergonomics for its operators. As a result, unloading time has been cut by 15%, with improved working conditions. Equipped with a hydraulic system and man-rider platform, the conveyor enables parcels - weighing up to 20 kg - to be retrieved directly from the containers without the handler having to pick them up at arm's length, from a height of 2,5 metres.
"Our operators were waiting for this type of solution. The machine was up and running within a day. It allows us to be more efficient and to protect our employees," explains Fabien Bessirard, Operations Performance Manager at ITM LEMI's Garancières-en-Beauce site.
